Iraq

I have said it before and I will say it again: This is NOT the time for America to even think of leaving Iraq. Prematurely leaving Iraq most certainly would be a colossal disaster, perhaps even bigger than prematurely going into Iraq proved to be.

This war started for all the wrong reasons. Started based on a bunch of lies. Having said that, I personally would luv to finish this god awful thing by doing something good, something really really good. A lot of blood has been spilled. Far too many families have been left heart broken. Far too many families have been completely wiped out. In the end, all this sacrifice better be for something. Something really good. Heck, something G-R-E-A-T.
A time will come (hopefully sooner rather than later) when we’ll all have the time to look back. To judge if the costs of this war were greater than the benefits. To hold bozos accountable. To play politics and score points. As we should. However, that time ain’t now.
One more thing: During last year’s US Presidential elections, Bill O’Reilly, a conservative anchor of a successful program at Fox News, publicly invited Senator Kerry on his show. As much as I personally do not subscribe to Mr. O’Reilly’s views, I do know that there are many in this country who like what he has to say. Far too many. And if I am running to be the President of United States, I must have it in me to go talk to anybody, especially if that ‘anybody’ and his millions of viewers disagree with what I stand for. What better way to reach out to them? In my opinion, it was sad to see Senator Kerry succumb to his advisors, or perhaps his own demons, and waste this wonderful opportunity. Along the same lines, I will never understand why the President cannot meet with Cindy Sheehan. Yes, I know he has met her before. Big deal. Do it again. This woman needs a hug. Needs a really long hug. Give it to her Mr. President. Don’t listen to those who claim to be your “brains”. What have you got to lose Mr. President? The fact is no matter what you decide on doing, you can never lose more than what this woman has already lost.

Cindy Sheehan doesn’t need a hug, she needs a kick in the butt. She is pissing on her sons grave. The boy enlisted on his own, then he re-upped his commitment when war broke out. He wanted to be in the military and a part of the war. Cindy Sheehan is disrespecting her president, her country, and her son. I hope she gets arrested for trespassing.
