…Here is something interesting to think about. China and India have huge populations. What is the percentage of those countries that are currently educated? At what point (percentage wise) would the combined populations of China and India that have advanced degrees surpass the total amount of people in the US that have 4 year degrees?…
Population China (as of 2005) = 1,315,844,000
Population India (as of 2005) = 1,103,371,000
Population TOTAL (as of 2005) = 2,419,215,000
5% of TOTAL = 120, 960,750Is my math off here. So basically 5% of their combined total population is 120 million; Almost half of our entire population? I think 10% is obviously a ridiculous number. I doubt that any country has 10% of their people with advanced degrees, but it is interesting to think that if these countries could reach that level they would have almost as many people highly educated as we have for total population.
