Rovian Shitstorm (Part 5): It’s coming on Monday (10/25/2004)

Washington Times, a Republican mouth-piece, will allegedly be reporting something damning on Senator Kerry in their Monday (10/25/2004) edition.

Come on, Karl. You’ve disappointed me so far. Let’s see what you’ve got. I’ve heard things like “Senator Kerry links with Cuba” , “Senator Kerry getting funding from some terrorist organization” etc. etc.

Bring it on!

Update:

Well, for whatever it’s worth, here’s the article

My personal take - It’s about as useless as doing a fact check after a debate. Also, here’s an interesting response by one of the commenters on DailyKos:

We have the usual anonymous quotes from sources who are almost certain to be partisan. No names and no job titles. Why would they have to anonymous? So that the reader won’t know that the person or persons quoted are Republicans who will say anything to harm John Kerry.

“A U.S. official with intimate knowledge of the Security Council’s actions in fall of 2002 said that he was not aware of any meeting Mr. Kerry had with members of the panel.”

“An official at the U.S. mission to the United Nations remarked: “We were as surprised as anyone when Kerry started talking about a meeting with the Security Council.”

What are the chances that the “U.S. official with intimate knowledge” is a Republican? How about the “official at the U.S. mission?” Is it possible that the two are in fact one person? What is the likelihood that this person or persons will lose their phony baloney job, where they get to hang out in New York City, travel, etc., when President Kerry takes office?

This is an almost useless hit piece. It fails to even approach the damage to Kerry done by the Puppies TV ad.
