Here’s what I really think is going on with this Sinclair business

In the end, Sinclair will NOT air the attackumentary. How do I know? Well, let’s just say that’s what my gut tells me. However, the damage would still be done if the Media and the American voters, especially Senator Kerry’s supporters, allow themselves to get obsessed with this story and forget about what really needs to be discussed: Issues and President Bush’s dismal record!
To all Senator Kerry leaning American voters, especially the volunteers who have spent countless hours of their precious time in order to help get Senator Kerry elected, here’s what I have to say:
“Stay focussed. Spend 15-30 mins. in pursuing Sinclair, but don’t go overboard. In August it was SBVT. In October, it’s Sinclair.”
It’s nothing but a distraction. If Sinclair wanted to really show this movie, why would they wait or even announce it now. They would just do it and deal with the repercussions later! But they did not. Why? Because Karl Rove desperately wants to get two things out of this:
- Free Media coverage focussing on the ridiculous charges of SBVT and related 527 groups. After all, if Sinclair reps are invited to explain their actions, they will talk about the movie and what it’s all about. Think of it as Karl Rove’s way of getting SBVT group back into the limelight. We all know what SBVT did to our poll numbers in August. Guess what. Karl Rove knows it too and wants those days back!
- Destroy the tremendous momentum (the “Big Mo”) that’s clearly now in Senator Kerry’s favor. He has to. He must. He knows he has no other way.
Does that mean I think this Sinclair thing is not a problem. No, not at all. It’s really a “nuisance” (stealing Senator Kerry’s lingo) and needs to be dealt with. However, let’s not get too carried away with it. Let’s not be demoralized about it. Don’t let it in any way, shape or form effect our daily volunteering efforts. As Senator Kerry would say, “..be smart about dealing with it..”.
Only 20 days are left before the elections. 20 days! So, hang in there. Be proud. Be optimistic. And don’t let this (and other elements of Karl Rovian shitstorm) bother you. You will S-U-C-C-E-E-D!
