Vice President Dick Cheney creamed Senator Edwards. Period.

I may not agree with many things that Vice President Dick Cheney said tonight. Frankly, I am surprised that Senator Edwards let the Vice President get away with the biggest lie in the history of this or any US Presidential campaign.

Here’s what Vice President said, and I am paraphrasing, “That he (Vice President Cheney) never ever said that there was a link between Saddam and Al Qaeda”. Senator Edwards had a brilliant opportunity to nail the Vice President for good right there but he let his emotions get the better of him

The Vice President talked about not seeing Senator Edwards before. Another lie.

I was disappointed that Senator Edwards did not nail the Vice President when the latter kept attacking Senator Kerry for “voting for the war and then voting against the troops”. I could not believe that Senator Edwards allowed Vice President to get away with this.

I was disappointed when the Vice President blasted Senator Kerry and essentially labeled Senator Kerry unfit to be the Commander-in-Chief based on his record when it should have been Senator Edwards attacking on the same thing.

As someone who has done his fair share of debating in college, I have no doubt that Vice President Dick Cheney absolutely demolished the Senator in the debate tonight. He attacked from the get go and frankly unsettled Senator Edwards from the very beginning.

I tip my hat off to Vice President Dick Cheney for being exceptional tonight. However, here’s the funny thing. I would not recommend anyone to vote for Bush-Cheney ticket for the very same reason that he cited tonight as a negative against Senator Kerry and Senator Edrwards - their record!

Update (10:08 PM PDT):

A nice article from Washington Post detailing the misstatements during tonight’s debate
