Spinsanity galore on Kerry’s speech..:-(

No surprise here. Examples:

• CNN.com does not have the news on it’s main web site (at 19:19 hrs PDT). They had a one-liner in the morning.
• MSNBC.com had it as it’s main news for most of the day. Titled: Kerry rips Bush over Iraq
• AP: Kerry Accuses Bush of Incompetence on Iraq. However, the article starts off like this:

  NEW YORK -
  Staking out new ground on Iraq (news - web sites), Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) said Monday he would not have overthrown Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) had he been in the White House, and he accused President Bush (news - web sites) of “stubborn incompetence,” dishonesty and colossal failures of judgment. Bush said Kerry was flip-flopping.

  I don’t think “…he (Senator Kerry) would not have overthrown Saddam..” is a fair characterization. His exact words were:

  Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator who deserves his own special place in hell. But that was not, in itself, a reason to go to war. The satisfaction we take in his downfall does not hide this fact: we have traded a dictator for a chaos that has left America less secure.

  Now that sounds better and correct too. Moreover, if Mr. Ron Fourner can quote President Bush, I think he should have quoted Senator Kerry too.

• NYTimes.com: In Harshest Critique Yet, Kerry Attacks Bush Over War in Iraq

I have no doubt that the Evening news, the Cable channel shows and our good friends on most of the conservative Radio airwaves would have done the same - ignore it completely or slam it as yet another incident of waffling.

Could’ve been better. Oh well..
