Well, Mr. President. You’re doing the same thing today in North Korea in case you’ve forgotten. Saddam Hussein was a problem just as Kim Jong Il was and continues to be. You’ve to deal with the menace appropriately. If you’re not invading North Korea, it’s because you’re wise enough to know that such an action will open a Pandora’s box large enough to subsume the entire United States, not to mention the possibility of another nation building exercise. In simpler terms, the costs of such an action will far outweigh the benefits. So, diplomacy is the route you’ve wisely chosen. There’s nothing wrong with that. Just as there would have been nothing wrong with keeping Saddam cornered and contained.

So, yes, I would prefer diplomacy with dictators than “fighting wars” and perform “nation building” in every nook-and-cranny of the world. Since when did United States foreign policy became spreading “democracy” across the globe, even if it meant US military intervention!

You chose to equate Saddam’s Iraq problem with the War on Terrorism. A big mistake.

Two things:

First, I am glad that you agree with Senator Kerry that his vision and points for Iraq is right on.

Secondly, it does NOT appear that you’re succeeding in what you claim you’re doing. I will tell you why. Because you’ve not held incompetent people in your Administration accountable for their mistakes including your own. You’ve not changed course when many, including senior Republicans, pleaded you to do so. Funny as it may sound, “you’ve not been enough of a flip-flopper” to do the right things after you found that you were wrong. And since you’ve burnt so many bridges while getting this country into Iraqmire, frankly I am not sure why American people or your allies across the World trust you and your judgement in doing the “right” thing.

Iraq War was not Saddam’s War or Osama Bin Laden’s War. It was your war and it was a wrong thing to do.
