The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll showed Bush with a 53 percent to 37 percent advantage over Democrat John F. Kerry when voters were asked who they think would do a better job handling the situation in Iraq.

James Burk of Texas A&M University said deaths in Iraq have not had as much political resonance as they might have because the public does not have a clear sense that Kerry has an alternative policy.
“He needs a standard that lets him clearly show the difficulties of Bush’s war policies and make a case that they are difficulties his own policies would overcome,” he said. “Until Kerry finds his voice on this issue, there is no reason to suppose that current casualty rates would be much different under a Kerry administration than they are under the present administration.”
I cannot in my right mind support another four years of President Bush. I think he and his team have policies that are radical and potentially dangerous for this country. However, as my past few posts have shown, I am extremely disappointed in Senator Kerry’s performance, especially since the end of Republican National Convention in New York.
It’s kinda funny. When the man commanded swift boats, his philosophy was “In heavy gunfire, turn your boat and head straight for the enemy”. Funny why he is not adopting the exact same policy here.
President Bush has misled the country into believing that Iraq War and War on Terror are one and the same. It’s wrong. It’s false. And he is deftly using it to his advantage by trumpeting the successes of one to hide the miserable failures of the other.
Senator Kerry, instead of debunking this myth by tackling it head on, is turning his swift boat (his election campaign) in a direction that will take him and his crew mates (in this case everyone who is rooting for him) nowhere!
Alas, all I can do is hope and pray that either my fears turn out to be misplaced or that he realizes this fact soon enough to turn this election campaign around.

I think people are getting tired of hearing about Vietnam, and also the Iraq war. They had time to make up their minds in these issues long ago.
If only Kerry would start making his points clearly about the economy, health care and social security, then I will have some hope.
I want to be pleasantly surprised in this election too, but…
