Needless to say, when you let anyone and everyone post comments on a political candidate’s blog, there is a likelihood of seeing some good and some not so good stuff. For now, I will stick with the ones that I thought were sincere, eloquent and funny:
I just heard David Brock (media matters, blinded by the right)
on Ed Schultz - he had stats about how many people Rush reaches every
day, and how few the Dems reach, and it’s extremely upsetting. He
outlined the advantages the Repugs have in all the media, and why it’s
so devastating.David also said that the Dems are just now starting to realize what
an incredible disadvantage they have because of the Repug ownership and
domination of the airwaves. He said he’s been trying to tell them for 2
years, but the Dems are just now waking up to the enormity of the
problem.So, dig deep, folks, get out those credit cards, and give, give, give! Give like your life depended on it. Give your lunch money, your movie money, your Starbucks money. Give your book fund, and visit the library til Nov 3rd. Give your yard sale proceeds, your car pool savings, your new underwear and socks fund. Give your mother-in-laws birthday present, your Christmas gift fund, your loose change collection. We just cancelled a 4-day labor day vacation to BC, and the money went instead to the DNC - that was tough.
But they’ve stolen our country from us - our civil rights, our environmental protections, our safety, our media, our jobs. We can’t stand by any longer and just let them do this to us.
I just read that over 900 people have been arrested for protesting Bush.I hope Kerry takes a long, hard look at the passion these people are exhibiting. They are giving a measure of themselves to fight this oligarchy that is slowly taking shape. I can only pray Kerry, Edwards, and their campaign shares their passion and is deteremined to fight as hard. People are giving up their lives for months, protesting, going to jail, forsaking lunches to donate what money they can, successful musicians are putting their careers on the line for swing state concerts, everyone is giving their all for you, John Kerry.
I think some ad rebuttal to the swift boats is desperately needed… I think it best be done with parody/comedy
the scene George Bush is filming his own swift boat style ad…..with the swift boat background and all…
An actor (who is clearly an actor) playing George Bush says “I know John Kerry’s war credentials, I served with him”…
the director yells “cut” and comes into the scene reminding Bush
that bush never actually was in vietnam he checked a box saying do not
send overseas..George says yeah but that fringe group said…. the director than
points out that the fringe group was directly contradicted by closer
eye witnesses, the official Department of Navy record and those ads
were funded by his pals who will say anything for him to win - even
contradict their own testimony.They start refilming
“Action” - director screams
george says
“I served and bled on the battlefield for my country”the director yells “cut” again coming into the scene and says
“george you bled in the dentist chair in Alabama, Kerry was the one
who bled on the battlefield, and George there was some time there where
no one knows where you were”…They refilm and George says “I flew fighter jets over the Mekong”…
the director yells cut and says
“George, you were in the ‘champagne squadron’ and wanted to fly the mail delivery planes, but missed your drug test”…Then show the south carolina footage of McCain himself saying “George, you should be ashamed of yourself”
