Came across a really neat Greasemonkey script which essentially enhances Google Maps site (when viewed using Firefox) to display Latitude/Longitude information when you enter an address.

Here are the steps:

Assumptions:

1. You use Firefox

2. You’ve installed Greasemonkey extension. Don’t know what Greasemonkey is? Click here for more details. Trust me. It’s pretty powerful and cool stuff.

Steps:

1. Open up this page:

2. Click on ‘Tools | Install User Scripts…’

3. Once it’s installed, go to maps.google.com

4. Enter your home address

5. You will notice that the site will now have two extra links on the right hand-side. See picture below:

6. Click on “Show Lat+Long” and you should be all set.

There are a bazillion more Greasemonkey scripts out there in case you’re interested. Here’s the laundry list for those who are interested.
