Gmail tools galore

Inspired by Nilesh’s blog entry, I decided to go on my own little fishing expedition and came back with lots of fish. Uh..I mean, Gmail tools . Enjoy!

1. GTray: Elias Torres’s Gmail mail notification tool
2. Gmail Loader: Mark Lyon’s brilliant tool allowing you to import your existing mail into Gmail
3. gExodus: Chu Yeow’s GUI wrapper around Mark Lyon’s Gmail Loader
4. Pop goes the Gmail: Accessing Gmail via POP3 client
5. Gmail notifier progress: Adds icon to Firefox/Mozilla toolbar displaying the number of new messages in your Gmail Inbox
6. Gmail-to: A utility that automatically associates “mailto” email links on the web with Gmail.
7. Gmailto and Gmailit boomarklets: Basically, bookmarklets that allow you to access your Gmail’s compose window with one click. Gmailit bookmarklet goes one step further and actually pulls the current page’s title and inserts into the subject line, inserts the page URL and any selected text into the body of the message.
8. GetMail: Can be used to auto-forward Hotmail messages to Gmail
9. Gmail as online backup system: Using PHP/cURL, Ilia Alshanetsky hack’s together a simple utility allowing an end-user to tap into Gmail’s 1 GB storage for temporary storage/backup
10. PST Reader: Convert Outlook PST files into mbox formatted files and then use Gmail Loader to upload the emails into Gmail
