A Hug from Above

I was having somewhat of a bad day yesterday. It basically was one of those days when things just did not seem to be clicking. Needless to say, the news that Svanik, my 9 month old nephew, was sick and needed to see a doctor only made matters worse.
As I sat there with Svanik in my lap waiting for his doctor and all kinds of nonsense clouding my mind on an otherwise beautiful Friday, a very cute looking kid (who later I found was named Michael and was two years old) came into the waiting room with his mom. He saw me holding Svanik in my lap and smiled. I smiled back. Even before I had a chance to figure out what was going on, he took a few baby steps towards me and gently hugged me. And he stood at my side hugging me for a good 5 seconds. I can’t remember what my reaction was and whether I even said thank you to Michael. I think I did.
Michael left with his mom shortly afterwards. And I was “healed” for the rest of the day
