There are IT professionals who have no clue what a blog is..

Personally, blogging comes very, very close to fulfilling one of the many dreams that folks had when WWW hit the scene. That “everyone would or could be an author or a publisher in their own right“. Well, that dream really has only begun to materialize thanks to blogging and the tools that support the easy “production” or “publication” of content (Blogging tools and Blogging engines) and the tools that make it easier to “mine” or “consume” the information produced (like the many News Aggregators). So, I find it really hard to fathom that there are IT professionals (pretty sincere ones too, as I might hastily add) who apparently have no clue what it is.

To all rest of the blogging gents and ladies out there who blog or at least make a sincere attempt at doing it, you might enjoy reading Tim Bray’s post titled Sun Policy on Public Disclosure. Here’s a quote:

Many of us at Sun are doing work that could change the world. We need to do a better job of telling the world. As of now, you are encouraged to tell the world about your work, without asking permission first (but please do read and follow the advice in this note). Blogging is a good way to do this.
