An education for the Future

It is already a cliché to remark that our time is one of tremendous breakthroughs. I refer to new work in technology, nanotechnology, the genetics revolution, robotics, artificial intelligence, perhaps even the creation of new species, by accident or by design.

It is also a cliché to note that education is becoming increasingly important. Anything predictable and rule-governed will be automated. Only those persons who are well and broadly and flexibly educated will be able to function productively in this new world.
