Terminator of Regular Expressions - Regulator !!

Came across a .NET based tool called Regulator. It recently got the thumbs up from RegExLib.com folks which sure sounds like a big deal to me.

Anyway, I took it for a spin this morning and I must say that it works pretty well. I did get a couple of Runtime Exceptions, but they were probably caused because I did not know what I was doing. Good news is they were caught gracefully and the tool allowed me to continue.

Also, by default, Regulator opens up with far too many sub-windows for my taste, enough to even put Photoshop to shame Anyway, after closing out a few of these windows, I ended up with a neat looking RegEx editor! I especially liked the context-sensitive drop-down (as shown above).

Now, what would really rock is porting this tool into an Eclipse Plugin or View (kinda like Cheat Sheet). Until that happens, Regulator will definitely find a place in my toolbox.

Hi Anand, there’s a Eclipse Plugin: http://brosinski.com/stephan/archives/000028.php

It doesn’t look as nice as the .net tool does, but it works just fine.
